We received a letter from Elpis Enterprises about a great opportunity for an AmeriCorps member to fill their Employment Navigator position. Please read below for more information:

Elpis Enterprises is a non-profit youth development organization serving youth impacted by homelessness ages 16-23 in the Twin Cities.  Elpis Enterprises believes that every youth deserves an opportunity to excel. Through social enterprise, youth build skills, build experience and build relationships in the community.  Young people develop as individuals and potential employees by working in real enterprises gaining the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary to overcome homelessness and become contributing members of our community.
Youth homelessness is a circumstance, not a disability. According to the Wilder Foundation, on any given night, an estimated 2,500 Minnesota youth experience homelessness. Yet given the opportunity, youth experiencing homelessness can excel, build skills and compete in the workplace with a high degree of success.
We are currently recruiting a qualified candidate for the position of Employment Navigator. We are writing to ask you to consider assisting Elpis Enterprises in our search for such an individual by advertising this opportunity in your local community. If you are interested please read below for a description of this position.

Elpis Enterprises is proud to have been awarded a Minnesota Opportunity Corps position beginning this fall. Minnesota Opportunity Corps members serve for 11 months (October – August) at a community-based organization located in the Twin Cities metro area to make a difference in the lives of individuals with multiple barriers to employment, retention, advancement and economic self-sufficiency. This member is not a replacement for staff but is a trained AmeriCorps member who will work with young adults who need help finding a job, advancing in their career, or accessing training to gain new, industry-relevant skills. This program sees strong growth in young adults served each year, and last year served over 2,000 Minnesota adults at organizations in the Twin Cities Metro.
